Tokyo based make-up artist Lilia Sonntag’s vision is enhancing your natural unique beauty to help you become the best version of yourself. Having artists on both sides of her family, creating art was something that came to her naturally- especially color coordination, which is her strongest suit. Lilia is trained in both Japanese and Western beauty make-up styles; a rare skill set in Tokyo.
While being asked to do make-up on her friends in high school and college, she found genuine happiness upon seeing the joy on their faces once their look was complete. She credits Kevyn Aucoin’s best-selling book “Making Faces” as her biggest inspiration in pursuing a career in beauty.
After graduating from Sophia University in Tokyo with a degree in International Business& Economics, Lilia worked in the corporate world for 5 years, including managing a day spa. With her family’s blessing, she took a break from the corporate world to obtain formal make-up education and received her professional make-up artist certificate in New York City from Chic Studios. Since then, she has worked for Bobbi Brown, while also freelancing for Los Angeles Fashion Week, Brooklyn Fashion Week, event make-up for the Grammy’s and taught make-up classes for her local community. Currently, she is perfecting her own blend of Japanese and Western style make-up.
Lilia is fluent in Japanese, German and English.
